The 8th annual HB Art Center Party/Auction is coming up on May 16th from 7 to 9:30 pm. There's also a meet the artist Party on Friday May 9th from 7 to 9pm that is always a good time and will also feature performances by my friends at Finishing School. Be sure to come on out and support our local art center. See you there.
Following is a little video piece I did while Mark Dutcher and Sherie' Franssen were installing their outdoor installation at the center.
Here's a good post from HP on whether to go to grad school or not. A question I'm struggling with on a daily basis. My favorite line?
"remember, your full potential is not realized in your career. Focus on living your best life instead of searching for a job to give you a great life. Dare to explore, to dream, and to discover, and then at least you can look forward with purpose and not look back with regret."
How can you not love David Bowie as a vampire and Bauhaus in the opening scene. Best opening scene of a horror movie in my opinion. Plus that club reminded me of the place we use to do after hours back in the 80's, except it was called the Odyssey and it was located in LA. Many a vampire lurking back then..
Some of you may not know that one of my favorite places in the world is any book store. Well before I left for Dallas last week I ventured over to Barnes & Noble and was walking through the aisles when a certain book called out to me, stopped me in my tracks, and said READ ME. I tend to follow directions when books talk to me like that so I picked it up, gave it the once over and took it to the counter. Here If You Need Me by Kate Braestrup is a true story and that's about all I'm going to tell you about it. I was a little concerned that this book was going to be "churchy" but it is everything but that. For a small sample please view the video below to hear her definition of God and then go out and get the book. Two Thumbs Up! It's a very powerful book.
