OK. It's time to pump the brakes on all the eating I've been doing on this trip. The office is having a biggest loser competition and I'm a team captain because I lost 11 lbs in two weeks. Wish me luck. Must. Be. Strong.
After a little drama we made it into New York and were able to enjoy an amazing anniversary dinner. Now we're just cruising around and enjoying the many art locales and fine restaurants. Tomorrow is more art and more eating I'm sure. Here's a quick vid: NYC Day 1 from Dharma Bum on Vimeo.
So the plan for our trip to celebrate 10 years of marriage is to repeat our honeymoon. We're basically taking the same trip we did 10 years ago when we were married. We're going to be gone for two weeks and I can't wait to leave. Hopefully the fall color is getting in gear as we speak. For those interested here's a quick itinerary of where we'll be:
We start the tour with 3 nights in NYC doing the regular stuff; eating, art, etc.
Then we head to Lenox, MA to stay in this hotel. Very excited. I think we'll be riding some horses while there. Fun!
After that we head on over to Vermont. Not sure what Michele has planned here but hopefully it will include just sitting around and watching the leaves turn.
Then we drive back over to the White Mountains of New Hampshire where we will visit Robert Frost's former home and pay a visit to the restaurant with the best pancakes/maple syrup in the land.
After a few days of that, we drive over to the coast of Maine where we'll eat lots of lobster rolls and go sailing at least one day while we're there.
And to finish it all off we end in Boston where we'll be staying at my favorite hotel for a few days and enjoying one of the best cities in the country.
Friday night Ed Giardina finally got me to come out with him for a midnight ride through the streets of LA. This particular ride was hosted by Sins and Sprockets and started at Pan Pacific Park over by the Grove. We went through all sorts of neighborhoods and fun was had by all. It's really a great time and if you haven't done one you should check out ride groups like Midnight Ridazzzz, Wolfpack Hustle, Sins and Sprockets and Critical Mass host rides in Orange County the last Friday of every month.
