The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep. - Robert Frost
New Englanders are real salt of the earth type of folk. Everybody I've come across since we crossed into New Hampshire has been a delight.
I'm not sure why I've found myself in New Hampshire several times now, but it is a special place. How can you not love a state who's motto is "Live Free or Die." They don't mess around. It's the exact opposite of California, in every way. We're surrounded by nature, and moose allegedly, but I've yet to see one on this trip.
I'm a Frost man.
Well actually a Whitman and Frost man, but this post is about Robert Frost. We named my previous company after Frost's Road Not Taken. Today I had the opportunity to make the trek to Frost Place. It such a wonderful slice of heaven for me. Every time I walk the poetry trail through the woods of the white mountains and read Frost's poems along the way, it's always emotional and inspiring. Every year they host a poetry festival at Frost Place where they hold workshops and readings all week long. I'm very seriously considering going next year.
The hotel we're staying at is a beauty (see below).
Fall is starting to peak through here in NH. Spots of red and orange showing already. It was a nice bonus.
Tomorrow we leave for the Maine coast. Here's some photos from NH..
